Sony And Mercedes-Benz Italia Launch The PS5-Themed A-Class Vibes
Giancarlo Perlas December 7, 2023Sony and Mercedes-Benz Italia just unveiled a new product of their new collaboration, the PlayStation 5-inspired Mercedes-Benz A-Class Vibes. It even comes with the game console and Gran Turismo 7 racing game. If you’re both a gamer and a Mercedes-Benz lover, this news is for you.
The new collaboration between the two giants in the automotive and gaming industries is highlighted in the video titled “Different Places, Same Vibes” produced by Mercedes-Benz Italia and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Design
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Vibes edition will only be limited to 50 units. The hatch comes in a sleek white exterior and darkened interior with blue ambient lighting, exactly mirroring the contrasting palette of a PS5 console and controller.
The car based on the 2024 model year A-Class plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is equipped with a tailored AMG Line Night pack featuring black accents on its body and mirror caps. It is also fitted with 18-inch five-spoke, light-alloy wheels.
Meanwhile, the cabin reveals a bluish aura made possible by 100 LED lights, but with options to change the theme from its 64 available colors. There are the usual Mercedes goodies like the MBUX infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, large screens, heated front seats, high-end leather upholstery, and a panoramic roof. The icing on the cake, though, is a pre-equipped PS5 Digital Edition console with a copy of Gran Turismo 7.
Powertrain
The A-Class Vibes is powered by a combination of a 1.3-liter inline-four internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric motor churning a total of 218 hp. This combo allows the car to sprint from zero to 62 mph in just 7.4 seconds.
Within optimal settings, the PHEV can cover a distance of 47 miles at full charge. Then, it can be charged from 10 to 80 percent using a 22 kW DC fast charger in a mere 25 minutes.
Pricing
The limited Mercedes-Benz A-Class Vibes sports hatch can be had for €55,677 ($60,357 at prevailing rates) from Mercedes-Benz Italia.
