Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Gets a V12 Transplant

For Mercedes-Benz, only a few of its vehicles deserved the almighty V12. It was only reserved for the flagship, special series, iconic G-Class, and ultra-luxurious Maybach units of the German automaker. The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG never got the coveted engine because it only belonged in the mid-range bracket of the company’s hierarchy. However, thanks to Brabus, 10 people had the privilege of owning a W212 E-Class with a V12 transplant.
Brabus calls its masterpiece the “E V12”, and it even surpasses the output of a standard AMG V12 auto. The German tuner swapped the original V8 power unit of the car with a 6.3-liter V12 engine. The result is a mind-blowing 788 hp and tire-burning 1,047 lb-ft of torque.
Since the E-Class is not designed to house such a massive engine, Brabus removed its front radiator support to make room for the V12’s front accessory drive system. Another very noticeable change in the car’s look is its pair of side skirts partially covering the rear wheels. This particular modification may not sit well with some onlookers but the tuner claimed that it helps reduce lift at the front and rear significantly based on wind tunnel tests. Apart from that, the new body kit of the vehicle only offers subtle changes to its appearance.
The interior complements the power-ups and exterior design with its upholstery in high-quality leather, Alcantara, or carbon fiber. The steering wheel also comes in carbon fiber and with the tuner’s logo. Lastly, “one of ten” badges adorn the seatbacks as reminders that the E V12 is a limited edition product.
