Mercedes-Benz China gets new chief

DaimlerChrysler AG is reporting today that it is appointed Klaus Maier as president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz China.
Maier takes his new post January 1st and will succeed Peter Honegg, who has become president and chief executive of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia; DaimlerChrysler gave no reason for the change.
Maier, who has been director of development for DaimlerChrysler’s worldwide sales organization, will be responsible for sales, marketing, network development, after-sales and service of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, the company said.
