HWA Resurrects The Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II

Giancarlo Perlas January 5, 2024

Last November, HWA revealed its exciting plan to bring back the famous Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II. Now, they’ve made it happen with the new HWA EVO.

HWA EVO

Modern Twist on a Classic Car

HWA is making a special, limited edition of the iconic Mercedes 190E Evo II, and they’re calling it the HWA EVO. This isn’t just fixing up the legacy car, it’s giving it a cool and modern makeover.

The automotive specialist is only making 100 of these new EVOs, which means they’re going to be five times even more special than the original car. The new version keeps the classic look but adds some amazing twists like bigger wheel arches, boxy headlight and taillight designs, and fancy six-spoke alloy wheels.

Technical Specs and Pricing

The HWA EVO keeps true to its predecessor but with some improvements. It’s equipped with a twin-turbo V6 engine instead of the original 2.5-liter engine. HWA is yet to reveal the performance figures of the car but it should be over the 232 hp offered by the former.

The whole body of the car is made of carbon, which optimizes the vehicle’s weight and aerodynamics. The suspension is inspired by DTM racing cars, so it’s like having a race car that owners can drive on regular roads.

This amazing restomod starts at about £625,000 before taxes, and the price is expected to go up to around £750,000 in the UK.

HWA Really Knows Their Stuff

HWA’s portfolio is highlighted by its series of race cars based on popular models. Over the years, they have been involved in Mercedes’ racing teams and have worked on some really impressive and exclusive cars like the CLK GTR, Pagani Huayra R, and Apollo IE.

And for the unfamiliar, HWA stands for Hans Werner Aufrecht as in “Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach” in the AMG name.
