Ares Design Releases Rendering Of Future Mercedes-Benz G-Class

With the upcoming replacement of the Defender of Land Rover, some industry watchers are hoping that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class will receive a makeover soon. While the G-Class and the Defender belong to the same market, the luxury SUV of Mercedes-Benz abandoned its military roots and opted to offer lavish comfort for the upper crust of society, particularly those living in the Middle East.
It remains to be seen if the G-Class will indeed get a cosmetic overhaul, but this did not stop Ares Design from rendering a possible future model of the luxury SUV, as shown on a report from carscoops.com. The G-Class has a rather unique quality of being a timeless design. The term “timeless” normally means it will continue to be liked by people as time passes. However, in the case of the G-Class, it signifies that it will remain on the shopping list of many people over a period of time. Unless people are collectors, they normally buy new vehicles instead of classic cars.
It is necessary to take into serious consideration any changes made on the design of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class since it can dictate how it will fare in the market. While it is risky to maintain the design of the vehicle, it is more dangerous to modify something familiar to many people. As the saying goes “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
With this in mind, making the necessary modifications on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class will not be an easy task for designers over at Mercedes-Benz. Although the design published by Ares Design may serve as a guide, some industry watchers may think otherwise. Some of the features currently used by other Mercedes-Benz models are utilized on the design, but it has a more curvaceous appearance.
While the overall boxy shape of the G-Class remains, the number of 90-degree angles has been reduced. This is mainly the reason why some industry watchers do not take this rendering seriously. However, some have also praised the rendering since it essentially reflects the look of a futuristic vehicle. It was even considered as the best prediction of the appearance of a future G-Class. Whatever the case may be, the rendering is still a noteworthy concept of how future Mercedes-Benz G-Class may look like.
