Sneak Peek Of The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon
Giancarlo Perlas April 30, 2023Mercedes-Benz recently teased the public with the 2024 E-Class Wagon during the Industry Pool at the Nürburgring. This new model is set to break new ground in terms of efficiency and locally emission-free driving, as it is expected to be electrified in some form. The E-Class Wagon will be available in mild-hybrid turbocharged gas and diesel versions, while the top-spec AMG variants are expected to feature electrically assisted, turbocharged four-pot powertrains.
Here is a rundown of its key features:
Mercedes E-Class Wagon Exterior
The 2024 Mercedes E-Class Wagon’s design is still heavily camouflaged in the video uploaded by Automotive Mike on YouTube, but it is clear that the vehicle will share a lot of styling elements with its new sedan version unveiled earlier. From the looks of it, the auto has a short rear deck and LED daytime running lights that double as turn signals.
Meanwhile, the front grille and badge are disguised, but air inlets on the lower bumper are expected. The prototype is also seen wearing a generic set of black alloys, which may likely be replaced in its production model.
Mercedes E-Class Wagon Interior
Like its sedan sibling, the wagon features a digitized dashboard filled with screens that will be recognizable to many. The design of the cabin is heavily influenced by that of the EQE, particularly the version without the optional MBUX Hyperscreen. The new E-Class Wagon is set to provide an opulent and comfortable driving experience, as expected from a Mercedes vehicle.
Powertrain and Launch
The powertrain details of the upcoming E-Class wagon are still scarce, but a plug-in hybrid was spotted early on in the spy video above. The rest will most probably copy the trims of the sedan model.
The high-riding All-Terrain body style and AMG variants may not be revealed until late 2023 or early 2024. In the US, only the All-Terrain version of the E-Class is confirmed following the release of its sedan model.
