New Manhart Tuning Package Gives a Final Salute to the Mercedes-AMG C63
Giancarlo Perlas October 24, 2022It seems Manhart has been generating a lot of buzz in the Mercedes-Benz tuning scene in the past few days. Alongside the new Manhart G 800 Inferno build based on the Mercedes-AMG G63 that it unveiled recently is the new Manhart CR 700 Last Edition that serves as a final salute to the outgoing Mercedes-AMG C63 sports sedan model.
The key highlight of the CR 700 is the major boost in its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that brings its power to 702 hp and 679 lb-ft of torque. The numbers are a good 199 hp and 162 lb-ft more than the stock configuration of the Merc it is based on.
The new tune is made possible by the specialist’s performance kit featuring an ECU remap coupled with new turbochargers, intercooler, carbon intake, and exhaust system upgrades. These are also complemented by a new suspension kit with adjustable H&R springs to get the base of the auto closer to the ground and bring about better stability and handling when driving.
Furthermore, the C-Class is topped off by the tuner’s signature forged wheels measuring 9×20-inch and 10.5×20-inch for the front and rear, respectively. These are shod in 255/30 front and 275/30 rear high-performance tires.
There are only a few elements introduced in the aesthetics of the AMG C63 like the yellow contrasting decals, CR 700 special badges, blacked-out grille, and twin-six spoke wheel design. However, it sure did a great job in improving the overall look of the car, which is enough to make it stand out from its standard AMG model.
