Mercedes-AMG Project One Seen with Lambo and Bugattis
Giancarlo Perlas June 9, 2021The Mercedes-AMG Project One is long overdue. Deliveries of the hypercar were originally scheduled for 2019, but the deadline was pushed back to 2020. Later, the pandemic happened so they said it’s happening this 2021. Up to now, there’s still no definite date for its rollout.
According to reports, the delay in the deliveries of the Project One was due to its problems in meeting emission standards. That means there’s still a lot of work to be done with the car.
With the pressure from buyers who already ordered the car though, Mercedes seems to be working double time on the Project One lately. Recently, its prototype was spied in Nurburgring again. What makes this new sighting more special is that it appears with its hypercar rivals.
The latest video of Project One shows it running laps alongside the Bugatti Centodieci, Bugatti Chiron Supersport, and Lamborghini Huracan STO in Nurburgring. In other words, it’s truly a sight to behold.
As a recap, Project One possesses a 1.6-liter V6 internal combustion engine (ICE) with forced induction and partnered with four electric motors. One electric motor powers each front wheel, another boosts the turbochargers and the last juices up the crankshaft. The total output of the setup is at least 1,000 hp.
While a thousand horsepower is totally mind-blowing, it should be noted that each Bugatti hypercar in the video is over 1,500 hp. However, the weakest link in the bunch in terms of output is the Huracan STO that peaks at 640 hp.
