New Posaidon Tuning Kit Turns the Last-Gen Mercedes-AMG A45 S Into a Supercar

For Posaidon, they are not done yet with the owners of the previous-generation Mercedes-AMG A45 S. The famous German tuner just released new upgrades for the hot hatch that turn it into supercar levels. The peak of the modifications even dwarfs the latest generation of the car, which is considered as the most powerful hot hatch in series production today.

The power boost starts with the company’s plug-and-play device that can be easily installed at home. It only costs €1,499 ($1,840) but it’s enough to boost the output of the hatchback by 43 hp with 44 lb-ft f torque. Overall, it provides the AMG A45 425 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque while the more potent AMG A45 S takes the numbers up to 458 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque.

Posaidon sells a separate CPC control unit too that removes the electronic limiters of the AMG A45 and AMG A45 S to let them run beyond 155 mph and 168 mph, respectively. The product costs €2,999 ($3,682).

More power can be achieved thru Posaidon’s RS 525 package. As its name implies, it bumps the output of the A45 S to 525 PS or 518 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. The figures are enough to propel the auto from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, which is a second quicker than its stock configuration. Meanwhile, the top speed is spiked at 201 mph with the limiter still intact.

The new Posaidon software modifications are also compatible with the old AMG models equipped with the same engine as the previous generation A45 and bearing the 45 suffixes such as the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and the Mercedes-AMG GLA45 crossover.
