Mercedes-Benz GLB – Teaser #3

Powerful proportions with short overhangs and off-road-oriented design – our new Mercedes-Benz GLB: for family & friends.

The official unveiling of the Mercedes-Benz GLB sport utility vehicle’s production version is about to happen. Hours before that though, Mercedes dropped a final teaser to further hype the product.

It should be recalled that the GLB Concept just came out in April at the Shanghai Auto Show. Therefore, we expected its production model to debut late this year. However, we were mistaken because in just two months, it’s finally here.

The new GLB SUV is making its world premiere in Utah, USA. The 15-second clip shows the auto from a distance, and it looks like we are almost looking at the new GLC SUV. The video also gives us a peek at the vehicle’s interior, which displays circular air vents similar to what we have seen in the smaller cars of its maker like the A-Class Sedan. We get a glimpse of the porous leather seats with its stitching and rhombus-shaped exhausts.

It’s really hard to make out the rest of the GLB’s key design features because for some reason, the lower half of the footage is a mirror image of what’s shown in top. So, it gets confusing from there.

The GLB will be positioned between the GLA and GLC in the Mercedes SUV hierarchy. So far, it has no direct competition from the likes of Audi and BMW. However, the vehicle presents a nice alternative to those who are looking for an SUV with about the same reliability possessed by a van in terms of passenger capacity. It was already revealed that the GLB will get a third-row of seats.

Stay tuned for more details about the Mercedes-Benz GLB when it comes out in a few hours.
