Lorinser Tunes the Mercedes-Benz G500
Giancarlo Perlas November 8, 2015Lorinser just announced its project involving the Mercedes-Benz G500. With the tuning package of the specialist, the vehicle gets some visual enhancements plus a boost in its performance.
Outside, the G500 gets a customized front grille, side skirts, spare wheel casing, and a rear spoiler. The section in the radiator grille where the original three-pointed star logo of the vehicle used to sit is replaced by the marque of Lorinser.
Lorinser also mounts the G-Class with a set of blacked out RS9 alloy wheels. Each wheel features a five triple-spoke design. The tuner recommends 22×10 wheels wrapped in 295/35 R22 tires for the front and rear of the auto.
Inside, customers can choose among the high-quality leather, wood, piano paint job, and carbon fiber covers for its seats and other surfaces. Customers can select one or a combination of these to let them achieve the interior design that they are looking for, whether they want a sportier, more luxurious feel, or both.
The real action can be found under the hood of Mercedes’ iconic SUV though. Lorinser takes the 5.0-liter V8 engine of the G500 to another level with its power enhancement module. This brings up the output of the vehicle to 490 hp with 690 Nm torque.
The boost lets the G500 to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in only 5.6 seconds. On the other hand, its top speed (electronically-limited) could go up to 210 km/h.
Based on the report of Carscoops, the cosmetic package offered by the tuner for the G500 costs €4,360. Getting the engine and exhaust upgrades will cost customers an additional €6,000.
