Futuristic Mercedes-Benz Concept Vehicle Created By German Designer

Industrial engineer Matthias Böttcher created an impressive-looking futuristic Mercedes-Benz concept vehicle, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. The 1950s 300 SL Gullwing of the German luxury vehicle manufacturer served as the inspiration for the concept vehicle, which was a requirement for his bachelor’s thesis at a design university.

A scale model was also built by Böttcher to show how his concept vehicle would look like in the flesh, albeit in a smaller scale. The Sindelfingen, Germany native merged the latest design cues of the brand with the basic lines of the 300SL Gullwing for his concept vehicle, which was dubbed the SL|PURE.

One notable feature of the SL|PURE is the absence of side windows and a windscreen. The center of the roof of the concept vehicle is also transparent, which may alleviate any claustrophobic tendencies some drivers or passengers may have. The taillights of this concept vehicle are similar to the ones found on the Aston Martin DB10. It also does not appear to have any glass in front, which makes it impractical for use on the road. Despite this, its aerodynamically-efficient body design and butterfly doors make it a rather extraordinary-looking vehicle.

The design also hints at the possibility that this futuristic Mercedes-Benz concept vehicle to be a self-driving car, which gives an indication that the concept vehicle will feature a number of sensors and cameras to allow its passengers to reach their destination without any problems.
