The new pictures of Ryan Thomas driving a Mercedes-Benz SL convertible had been drawing much attention lately. So what’s the fuss all about?
In 2013 Thomas filed for bankruptcy. That is after the English actor accumulated £40,000-worth of back taxes.
According to UK’s Mirror website, the Coronation Street star, who played the character of Jason Grimshaw, promised to pay off all his debts within a year when he was discovered by the taxman, and was even given an extension after failing to fulfill his financial obligation. Yet, he filed for bankruptcy later.
So a picture of a supposed to be bankrupt actor driving a Mercedes-Benz costing around £70,000 might not sit well with people, especially those who are religiously paying their income taxes. In the pictures from Xposurephotos.com, the actor can be seen rolling around Cheshire village in the flashy luxury convertible with his pal Dean Gaffney.
But is the car really his or he’s just taking the wheel of someone’s car. Perhaps it might be even Gaffney’s.
On the other hand, if it turns out to be his car, he might get in trouble later. While I have no problem with this scenario, he should avoid attracting too much attention. He should have the decency to at least play it low for now as the issue with his taxes is still fresh in the public’s mind.
That does not mean he should drive a beatup pickup or something but he should have at least raised the roof of the car to avoid the paparazzi, or prevent himself from taking photos in an expensive yacht enjoying the sun as many of his countrymen are breaking their backs on their jobs just to make ends meet and pay their taxes properly.
Going to the Mercedes, it sure is very striking. No wonder Thomas was very hard to miss.
