VATH Turns the Output of a Mercedes E63 AMG Into 750 HP
Giancarlo Perlas December 8, 2014Nowadays, station wagons are overshadowed by the popularity of the SUV and crossovers. However, the recent job done by VATH to the Mercedes E63 AMG 4MATIC S might change a lot of people’s minds about estates. The latest work of the tuner involving the E63 AMG, dubbed as the V63 RS Export, includes the installation of a performance package plus some minor tweaks in its body.
Going under the hood, the aftermarket tuner tinkered with the stock 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine of the Mercedes E63 AMG to boost its output by about 173 horsepower. The modifications such as the remapping of the ECU, reconfiguration of the turbos, upgrade to the oil cooling system, and new exhaust system bring the power of the wagon to a total of 750 hp. Then, it is partnered with a torque of around 1,000 Nm distributed to the usual 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission of the vehicle to allow it to reach a top speed of up to 350 km/h.
The Mercedes E63 AMG is also imbued with an improved chassis and suspension, which drops the elevation of the wagon by up to 40 mm. New wheels, racing braking pads, carbon-fiber front spoiler, rear diffuser, and underbody extension are equipped too.
The tuner claimed that there are available enhancements for the interior of the V63 RS Export as well. The add-ons include a new black carbon trim, steering wheel wrapped with a high-end leather, and a new speedometer.
