Check Out This LeTech USA Mercedes G-Class
Giancarlo Perlas November 7, 2014The SEMA Show 2014 definitely showed us the “do’s and don’ts” when customizing a vehicle. From the outrageous to the outstanding, the different auto booths had it all.
As usual, the Mercedes booth stood out once again due to its jaw-dropping concept vehicles. One of the three-pointed star units that really amazed us though was the LeTech USA Mercedes G-Class. We tip our hats off to this exceptional ride, which used the 2005 G-Class platform, because its tuner displayed excellent craftsmanship in its end-product.
LeTech Portal Axle Conversion Kit
The most noticeable feature that you will truly appreciate in the LeTech USA Mercedes G-Class is its high ground clearance. The tuner fitted it with its signature high-end portal axles, which were designed and manufactured all the way from Germany. Overall, its ground clearance was over 17 inches.
Among the other things offered by the LeTech Portal Axle Conversion Kit were fender flares made of fiberglass, front and rear portal axles, brake calipers, drilled rear rotors, drilled vented front rotors, plus bead lock wheels and tires. It should be noted that its gear ratio inside portals was configured to compensate for 37-inch tires to ensure the accurate and proper operation of all systems including the ABS, speedometer, and cruise control.
LeTech USA Accessories
The LeTech USA Mercedes G-Class also came with new accessories. Among them were the signature beadlocker wheels of the tuner measuring 8.5 by 18 inches, and it was fitted with Falken Wild Peak A/T 37 x 13.5 x 18 tires. Then, it was equipped with a roof rack system complete with a ladder. Next, the front and rear bumpers were modified. It should be noted that its front bumper offered a winch mount too. In addition, a skid plate kit was added to protect the fuel tank, front coolers and transfer case. Lastly, an onboard central air system was installed for adjusting tire pressure while on the go.
