New Brabus Mercedes C-Class AMG Tuning Package Revealed
Giancarlo Perlas November 25, 2014Brabus recently unveiled its tuning package for the Mercedes C-Class AMG, which included upgrades in the car’s styling and performance. The new tuning kit came in following the release of the tuner’s standard specifications plus the Avantgarde and Exclusive Packages for the C-Class.
The exterior modifications include a Brabus logo in the center grille, sharp front spoiler, rear spoiler, and diffuser bumper insert housing two pairs of twin chrome-tipped pipes offered in the Brabus sports exhaust system.
The stock wheels are also replaced by the signature monoblock wheels of the tuning company. It should be noted that the wheels are available in various designs and measurements (18, 19, and 20 inches).
An optional sports suspension made in collaboration with Bilstein, sports springs and control module can be availed by buyers as well who want to improve the handling of their cars in the road. Notably, the air suspension lowers the ride height of the car by about 30 mm.
Going inside the car, its occupants will surely enjoy its fine leather padding coupled with other custom accessories like aluminum pedals and velour floor mats. Of course, the accessories are adorned with Brabus logos too.
As for the performance upgrades, Brabus offers two power kits for the Mercedes C-Class. The C180 model gets a performance boost from the Brabus PowerXtra B18.2 package to raise its output to 154 hp with 184 to 221 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the Brabus PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit is specially made for the C200, which boosts its power to achieve an output of up to 221 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque.
The kit for the C180 lets the C-Class sprint from zero to 62 mph in only 8.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 143 mph. The C200 package allows the car to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 7 seconds and push its speed up to 150 mph.
According to the tuner, another kit for the diesel variant of the Mercedes C-Class is under development. So, expect more options soon.
