September 9, the much-awaited date for Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts is finally here. Today, the three-pointed star brand will unveil its hottest masterpiece so far, the Mercedes-AMG GT.

Previously, we have seen the spy photos, teaser images, videos, actual interior shots, and sound clips of the Mercedes-AMG GT. So, by now, we already have an idea of what we can expect from it.

It was also officially revealed that the upcoming sports car of Mercedes will be carrying the new M178 engine of the German marque’s performance division. The engine is a twin-turbo V8 with 4.0-liter motor. This piece of hardware enables the car to produce up to 340 kW for the standard version, up to 375 kW in the special edition called the AMG GT-S.

The car will have a lighter frame too. The weight and its power would allow it to sprint from zero to 62 mph in just a span of 3.8 seconds. Then, its top speed can reach up to 192 mph.

Basically, all the important stuff about the car have been fed to us already. The promotional videos of the PS4 videogame titled DriveClub even came close to giving us a bare full view of the vehicle. But that’s as close as we could get into seeing the finish, lines, and style of the Mercedes-AMG GT.

The official online unveiling of the Mercedes-AMG GT will take place at 19:30 GMT today. All we have to do now is sit back, and wait as the timer to the debut of the car hits zero. Until then, check back BenzInsider for the latest images of the car to hit the Internet.
