GMP Performance Modifies the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG

The facelifted Mercedes CLS was only unveiled at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new Mercedes car is one of the highlights of the event due to its improved design, enhanced performance, and the new technology its offers.

With the mentioned factors, some owners of the current-generation CLS may be thinking of upgrading to the new one already. However, with the new modifications introduced by GMP Performance to the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG, there might be a good reason to hold on to the current version of the vehicle a bit longer.

Despite what some critics say against the four-door coupe, the design of the Mercedes CLS is surely striking. It is the reason why Mercedes-Benz did not do much to change its current design. Sure, the car was facelifted, but many of the important elements that make the current CLS stylish are still there.

GMP Performance also stayed away from body kits to maintain the astonishing aura of the current CLS. Instead, it fitted the car with black 20-inch ADV05.1 one-piece forged wheels complete with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Then, the coupe’s badges, emblems and grille were highlighted in satin black.

Its headlights may not be equipped with the new Multibeam feature but GMP Performance pimped it up a little by giving it a smoked look.

Lastly, GMP Performance used a RENNtech ECU upgrade and downpipes to boost the engine output of the car from 556 hp and 550 lb-ft torque to 669 hp and 734 lb-ft torque. It was fitted with a KW suspension as well for added stability and better driving quality. The said performance features enable the car to go from zero to 60 mph in just a span of 3.2 seconds.
