Carmony Revamps Operations to Help People Acquire Used Mercedes-Benz Cars
Giancarlo Perlas May 13, 2014Carmony.co.uk, a brand under Manheim, has been in operation since 2008. The operations of Carmony focus on selling dealer-approved vehicles. However, it has always been overshadowed by industry leaders like Auto Trader, and another Manheim brand called Motors.co.uk.
Due to the predicament that Carmony is facing, and upon recognizing the huge demand for luxury vehicles such as those that belong to the Mercedes-Benz brand and other premium segment auto manufacturers, the company has decided to revamp its operations and concentrate on that particular niche.
The move of Carmony to focus only on used premium cars would come as a good news to people who are looking to buy their first Mercedes-Benz or luxury cars at a bargain. Also, its decision will definitely benefit high-end car collectors who want a more affordable way to indulge their very expensive hobbies.
Carmony hopes to be a main player in its new niche instead of struggling in the market that is already dominated by Auto Trader and Motors.co.uk. Aside from its function as a locator for used Mercedes-Benz and other luxury cars, it has also reinvented its news page to focus only on reporting about high-end used cars.
The new business model of Carmony is very promising. Critics, on the other hand, question the long-term viability of the company because they think that the business model, which concentrates on used car dealership, is already saturated. However, it still remains to be seen if Carmony can find success in the premium car niche that it carved itself into.
