Mercedes-Benz To Focus More On Their 2014 F1 Car
Giancarlo Perlas April 29, 2013The Mercedes-Benz Formula One team is shifting 50% of its workforce to work on the development of their 2014 race car according to a recent news from ZeeNews. The move was intended to increase the chances of their star driver Lewis Hamilton of winning the trophy next season.
As stated in our previous reports, Mercedes-Benz is taking advantage of the changes in the F1 regulations next year. The primary change will come with the replacement of the standard V8 engines to V6 Turbos. With the engine change follows upgrades in the chassis design and aerodynamics as well.
Despite the apparent focus of the team on the 2014 season, Toto Wolff made it clear that they will not abandon the 2013 race. In fact, his team is aiming for the constructors championship this year. The movement of manpower will be done gradually so they will not compromise the current season, he added.
Wolff also speculated that the other teams will start working on their own cars for 2014 soon because of the complexity brought about by the developments.
