What’s New in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet?

Just after the premiere of the updated Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the three-pointed star brand just announced that the coupe and cabriolet versions of the range will be hitting the upcoming New York Auto Show.

So, what can we expect from the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet? Here is a quick look at their key features:

Engine Specs

According to Daimler, the European versions of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet are offered in four trims, namely the C200, C200 4MATIC, C220d and the AMG C43 4MATIC. On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz USA will be selling the C300, C300 4MATIC and AMG C43 models of the range.

The C200, C200 4MATIC, C300, C300 4MATIC and C220d are carrying inline-four engines. The high-performance AMG C43 4MATIC gets a V6 power unit.

The C200 and C200 4MATIC models each has an output of 185 hp coming from a 1.5-liter inline-four engine. The EQ Boost provides an additional 14 hp during the brief moment wherein the turbocharger of the car is still building up full charge pressure, and it also allows energy recuperation for the battery.

Theen, the C220d’s 2.0-liter inline-four, diesel-fed engine produces 194 hp. The US-bound C300 and C300 4MATIC each has an inline-four unit with 255 hp. The range-topping Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC is capable of delivering 385 hp from its V6 unit.

Basically, the engines of the models are similar to the ones offered by the Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan.

Design

The exteriors of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet merely received slight facelifts. Excluding the roof, the two are identical in terms design, and they just carried over the refreshed front look of their sedan counterpart.

Tech

The cars take the new standard entertainment and navigation equipment of the C-Class sedan. Highlighting the interiors of the coupe and cabriolet models is the standard 10.25-inch central display, which can be upgraded to a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The same driving assistance features like the Distronic, Active Steering Assist and auto-emergency braking are fitted to the vehicles as well.
