As the countdown to Christmas 2015 nears its end, Mercedes-Benz released a new commercial for its C-Class titled “Silent Night.” Basically, the advertisement was made to build hype for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C350e.
As a recap, the C350e was unveiled as a follow up to the S550 Plug-In Hybrid. It is powered by both a petrol engine and an electric motor. To be specific, under its hood is a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 2.0-liter inline-four engine. It has an output of 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The unit is mated to an electric motor with 80 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque. The combined power rating of the car according to CarAndDriver is 275 hp and 443 lb-ft. It is equipped with a 6.2-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
One of the key features of the C350e is its very silent engine. The video highlights this element as it shows the car humming silently while passing through a village. As a result, no one was really disturbed by its journey along the place.
Well, there appeared to be someone who shifted the curtains of his or her window as the car drove within the village, but it seemed that it was out of mere curiosity instead of an act of annoyance.
