The Mercedes-Benz Vision Tokyo, which is essentially a minivan version of the F015 Luxury in Motion concept, was teased recently by the German luxury vehicle manufacturer, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com.
The concept vehicle is set to be officially unveiled during the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show from October 30 up to November 8. In order to show more of the details of the concept vehicle, worldcarfans.com modified the official teaser image released by Mercedes-Benz to some extent.
The German marquee described its latest concept vehicle as an autonomous, progressive and luxurious vehicle that is “a vision for future generations.” Its design takes on a minimalist theme and features a side door with a split opening. It also comes with a wraparound windscreen along with slim headlights. Industry watchers also expect the seating of Vision Tokyo to be similar to the one found on the F015 Luxury in Motion concept. Due to this, the front seats can swivel to face the rear seats while on autonomous transportation mode.
The concept vehicle will also feature large-sized alloy wheels. Since the front and rear overhangs are short, it hints at the possibility that the luxury vehicle manufacturer wants to ensure a longer wheelbase for the vehicle to increase the space of the interior cabin. The image also shows the concept will have numerous digital screens, which will be a standard for autonomous vehicles once they become available in the market.
The Mercedes-Benz Vision Tokyo may feature an electric powertrain, but it remains to be seen until it will be officially unveiled by the luxury vehicle manufacturer.
