What happens if you pit the Porsche 911 Turbo (991) against a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4? How about versus a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe (W204)?
For the first question, it’s a no-brainer that the Lamborghini will dominate the Porsche. For the second question, the Porsche will likely stand a chance against the Mercedes since it is a pure sports car against a mere sporty luxury car.
But that’s not the case with the video we are about to show you from DragtimesInfo featuring two separate drag races pitting the Porsche 911 Turbo versus the Lamborghini Aventador and later against the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. That’s because the 911 and the C63 AMG were tuned to match the Aventador’s output.
The Porsche’s engine output was raised to 650 hp, thanks to the tuning package of PP-Performance. On the other hand, the power unit of the Mercedes was tinkered by the specialists of Morendi-Weistec to deliver 700 hp. So technically, only the Lamborghini had a stock configuration here since it already packs 700 hp.
Now let’s go to the races to see which one performs the best among the three very expensive cars:
Results (Spoiler Alert!)
The Porsche certainly has beaten expectations in the starting race. The 911 finished 0.7-second ahead of the Aventador in a quarter-mile run. The following race also resulted to another win for the Porsche by 0.994-second against its rival with the three-pointed star logo.
We got to hand it over to PP-Performance. Despite our favorite brand losing here, we will no longer bitterly complain about the Porsche having a lighter weight than the Merc and it most probably shed more weight from the tune, as well as point out the fact that a turbo car is faster than a naturally-aspirated one. Our only consolation here as MB fans is that it’s very rare to see an Aventador losing to a 911.
