The compact car division of Daimler just unveiled its new concept vehicle, the smart vision EQ fortwo. The auto embodies the new CASE strategy of the company which stands for “Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services, and Electric.”

1. Connected
The smart vision EQ fortwo can be summoned via a mobile device. The display in its black panel replacing the front radiator grille can be customized by the user and it is also capable of displaying information when unoccupied such as news, local events, weather and time. The vehicle also offers a 1+1 option to enable car sharing with other interested users who have the same travel plans or routes with the driver.
2. Autonomous
The smart vision EQ fortwo possesses swarm intelligence and self-driving capabilities. Using a mobile device, it can automatically pick up its passengers in their desired locations.
3. Shared & Services
Currently, car2go has more than 2.6 million users. Car sharing is projected to increase to 36.7 million by 2025.
The smart vision EQ fortwo was developed mainly to answer the increasing demand for car sharing. It is designed to make car2go more convenient, more flexible and more spontaneous. The autonomous element of the vehicle will make it easily accessible to users.
4. Electric
The smart vision EQ fortwo is fitted with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It can hold up to 30 kWh. It can drive itself to charging stations. Alternatively, it can also feed from the power grid inductively.
