The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is receiving updates for this year. The new model of the car has been confirmed to make its world premiere at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The auto is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. later this year.
1. Exterior
According to Daimler, the exterior of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is getting an overhaul. Among the mentioned changes in the car will come from its bumpers, headlamps and taillights. On the other hand, the new Mercedes-AMG C-Class will be fitted with a diamond radiator grille as a standard feature.
2. Interior
Inside, the upcoming C-Class has a more premium and sportier look. Its center console is offered in open-pore brown walnut or open-pore anthracite oak. Then the control and display layout available in the current S-Class will be trickled down to the C-Class.
The controls of the vehicle will be touch sensitive. The DISTRONIC and cruise control can be managed via its touchpad in the center console.
Aside from the advanced Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC in the Driving Assistance package of the C-Class, it has new functions in its Active Steering Assist such as the Active Lane Change Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist.
Optional in the new C-Class are the MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, ENERGIZING comfort control system and 12.3-inch display replacing its standard 7-inch screen.
3. Engine
The new C-Class is equipped with the latest 2.0-liter inline-four turbo engine of Mercedes. The unit is 14 hp more powerful than its predecessor at 255 hp with 273 lb-ft of torque. The output is distributed via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
New diesel and plug-in hybrid models will join the engine lineup of the updated C-Class too.
