Early this year, it was hinted that the upcoming Mercedes C-Class coupe and its convertible version are due next year. Numerous sightings of the Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet have been reported as well, which indicate that the three-pointed star marque is really preparing it for its eventual launch. Now, the company has finally given a clue about the release of the two C-Class variants according to a report from Auto Motor und Sport.
Based from the article (via Google Translate), Mercedes Chief Development Officer Dr. Thomas Weber announced the C-Class coupe and cabrio will go on sale by December next year. The exec revealed that the new coupe will feature a more aggressive styling compared to the sedan version.
Dr. Weber said it would have a more confident appeal, which is bordered with a sharp-edged look, in order to put a huge difference between it and its sedan counterpart. It was also mentioned that the coupe would be a couple of inches longer, wider, and taller than the sedan they have now.
So far, no information officially came out about the engine specs of the Mercedes C-Class coupe and convertible. However, we will likely get the options offered by the latest C-Class sedan.
An AMG version of the upcoming coupe was discussed in the report too. It claimed that customers should expect it in 2016.
It’s still a long-wait until we see the new variants, but we will surely keep you updated once we get hold of more information about the matter, or get new spy shots of the cars.
