The new Aston Martin DBX is making its way to the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Coming from Q by Aston, the crossover takes all the qualities of the brand’s special edition series while its performance is highlighted by a Mercedes-AMG power unit.
The exterior of the DBX showcases premium materials from Aston Martin’s stealthy package that includes carbon fiber accessories and fancy lights here and there, which truly makes it a head-turner. Meanwhile, the satin xenon gray paint finish and a set of 22-inch gloss black wheels also add to the character of the auto.
Inside, the upholstery of the vehicle is rigged with carbon fiber inserts. Aston Martin claims that the center console of the product alone is made up of 280 layers of the material.
Aside from the mentioned elements, buyers can further customize the DBX depending on how far their budget can go from the starting price of the crossover at $189,000.
The automaker is not offering any performance boosts for the vehicle though as its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from AMG is already offering a lot of oomph. The unit produces 542 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque at its peak. Then it is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that distributes all that power to an all-wheel-drive system. The performance of the crossover can be further managed through its different driving modes, namely the GT, Sport, Sport Plus, Terrain and Terrain Plus programs.
Putting the pedal to the metal takes the DBX from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds. On the other hand, its top speed is electronically-capped at 181 mph.
