When speculations about the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman came into light. Everyone got so excited because of the possible ultra-luxurious features that it might offer. Right now, everyone is counting down to March when the 85th Geneva Motor Show will happen due to the world premiere of the long-stretch limo of the three-pointed star brand.

However, long before the upcoming limo was the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman. This Thursday, we will revisit one of its variants, which paved the way for the S600 Pullman version of this era.

Here is the 1964 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman six-door.

Side-by-side: The Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman and the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman.

The 1964 Mercedes Pullman measures 6,240 in length from bumper to bumper. Then its wheelbase is 3,900 mm. As for the width and height, it’s 1,950 mm and 1,485 mm,  respectively. The figures are lower compared to the measurements of its indirect successor, the 2016  Mercedes-Maybach Pullman.

Power

Under the hood, the 1964 limo carries a 6.3-liter electronic fuel injection V8 engine. The output of the power unit is around 250 hp with a torque of 500 Nm.

The power is focused in the rear wheels. It is distributed automatically through a 4-speed gearbox.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the maximum speed of the auto is at 200 km/h. On the other hand, its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is 9.7 seconds.

The engine and numbers of the 600 Pullman are no match for the S600 Pullman under the Maybach sub-brand. However, if you compare the old-school  limo’s configurations with its contemporaries in the 1960’s, it is definitely one of the best in its category during its time.
