After getting teased with spy photos of the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 and Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe, AMG boss Tobias Moers officially confirmed that the mentioned units are already under development. He added that the vehicles will be equipped with “Drift Mode.” What is the Drift Mode For? Details about the new Drift Mode function is scarce. However, Moers explained in his interview featured in Motor Authority that it would make it easier and safer to do sideways action when hitting the track. Mercedes-AMG targets to expand its portfolio to 48 models. The performance brand aims to achieve that by the end of 2016. Tobias Moers, chairman of Mercedes-AMG, also expects further growth in sales this year. Currently, Mercedes-AMG has 38 models under its portfolio according to the interview of Moers with Autonews. So that means adding at least 10 to the existing models to achieve the goal. However, the AMG boss hinted that there might be more to that number. Mercedes-AMG big boss Tobias Moers confirmed with Top Gear that a more track-focused version of the Mercedes-AMG GT supercar will arrive later this summer. It promised to be fast and pointy, and will be above the Mercedes-AMG GT S. Currently, the GT S has 510 bhp, 4.0-liter biturbo engine, but Moers indicated that the coming Mercedes-AMG GT R would have the “next performance level” of that same engine. CEO Tobias Moers of Mercedes-AMG announced that the AMG Speedshift 9 is currently being developed and will be featured on the upcoming Mercedes-AMG E63, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com. The performance version of the 9-speed automatic transmission system is set to be offered in a number of regular models of Mercedes-Benz.
