Car2go a Hit in Seattle

After its first 90 days of operation in Seattle, it would seem that the car2go carsharing service is a hit. There have been 18,000 registrations over those first 3 months, showing that the city has embraced the point-to-point carsharing program with open arms. Seattle is a City that embraces new and innovative forms of mobility and has provided its residents with a diverse transportation mix,” said car2go North America president and CEO Nicholas Cole. There’s just something about fortwo special-edition units—this time, smart is releasing a special edition cityflame variant. The flame yellow body panels and black accents are sure to make the car a hit among smart enthusiasts and those simply looking for a cool, eco-friendly ride. It’s a bit exclusive, too, with only 2400 units to be produced in total. The black on the exterior are on the alloy wheels and tridion safety cell. Sources inside Mercedes-Benz disclosed that the new model of the Smart Fortwo will feature a one-and-a-half box design instead of the current single-box profile, once it enters the market next year. The bonnet of the new Smart Fortwo will be longer while its width will increase. It’s never a good thing when a dream fizzles out, and it can hurt much more considering we’re about to say goodbye to 2012 as well. That’s just what Jose Luis Alvarez has to deal with as he bids his 2013 Dakar Rally bid goodbye. Alvarez and his team was set to take a couple of smart ForTwos to the rally. Smart fortwo Protects Its Passenger, According to ADAC Test

It is just usual that when a small car crash with a big car, the smaller one get pressed hard – or so we thought. In the standard crash test, vehicles with the same weight are being stimulted to collide with each other. However, the most recent ADAC test made four smaller vehicles crash into a vehicle as big as a lower end midsized car. Surprisingly, it showed that the smart car despite being the lightest and smallest vehicle, can avoid the most common injury – the life threatening injury in the chest.
