In 2010, Carlsson unveiled a project involving the Mercedes-Benz SL. The tuner called it the C25 Super GT edition. Fast-forward to the present, the specialists of the tuning firm are releasing the final version of the car for the coming Geneva Motor Show. They christened it as the Mercedes C25 Super GT Final Edition. The Mercedes-Benz SL has been around for more than half a century, and has evolved into a couple of generations as the years went by. The SL is considered to be the longest surviving range among the different existing classes of the three-pointed star marque, predating the SLC and even the iconic G-Class. Based from the recently revealed new nomenclature system of the brand, the successor of the current Mercedes-Benz SLK will carry the SLC name instead to reflect that the roadster originated from the SL and it is somehow related to the C-Class core series of the German luxury automaker. Although even GM has come to the defense of Dupont in declaring the refrigerant R1234yf safe for use in passenger vehicles, Mercedes continues to stand by its contention that R1234yf can be flammable in certain real-world conditions. Late last year, Mercedes-Benz published the results of its tests, where a head-on collision ruptured the AC lines of the test vehicle, spewing the contents on the hot engine. This combination caused a fire which obviously left the German manufacturer uncomfortable and concerned. New Features Coming To Mercedes-Benz SL And SLK

The enjoyable driving experience offered by the Mercedes-Benz SL and SLK sports cars will be expanded further with a number of new features that are available starting April. The four-cylinder, six-cylinder and the eight-cylinder models of the vehicles will feature the Driver Assistance or the COMAND Online package that offers the latest high-resolution color screen display on its instrument panel.
