The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is one of the most iconic cars of the three-pointed star brand. The auto remains as one of the most in demand classic vehicles in auctions. However, most units sold in the market nowadays are restored versions of the car and have been passed from one owner to another. A 1986 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster was put up for sale with a price tag of around $334,000 or €300,000, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com. The price may appear too high, but this particular SL-Class has gone through the hands of AMG, which essentially increased its value. Another thing to consider is the fact that these changes were requested by racing legend Michael Schumacher. This particular 560SL now features a 6.0-liter V8 engine after AMG replaced its original engine. The new engine is the same one used on the 300E 6.0 facelift. Official Pictures Of Updated Mercedes-Benz SL Released

The official images of the updated Mercedes-Benz SL were released recently, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com. The images of the refreshed SL were released before its expected official launch at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The high resolution photos showed the standard roadster, SL63 AMG 63 and SL65 AMG variants. The standard model comes with a large-sized diamond grille, redesigned front bumper featuring large air intakes and a set of LED headlights inspired by the AMG GT. The rear also saw the taillights redesigned while new chrome exhaust pipes and a large diffuser were installed. The facelifted models of the Mercedes-Benz SL and Mercedes-Benz GLS are expected to be officially unveiled Germany during the Los Angeles Auto Show next month, as indicated on a report from gtspirit.com. The GLS will serve as the replacement of the current GL, which will be renamed to fit the new nomenclature of Mercedes-Benz. The front fascia of the GLS is expected to be modified as shown on earlier spy shots. The new headlights as well as a new front grille will be integrated into this remodeled front fascia. The current model of the SL Class is among the oldest in the range of vehicles offered by Mercedes-Benz. Due to this, industry watchers are expecting an update soon. The updated model is expected to be unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show next year. However, this is manly applicable to the standard version. A German automotive news site claimed that the Mercedes-Benz SL will be made available for order before the year ends. According to the report, customers can start placing their purchases for the stylish roadster of the three-pointed star marque by December this year. Then, deliveries for to the customers will start in March 2016.
