Formula 1 Drivers’ Numbers Revealed

The Formula 1 drivers’ numbers have already been revealed by F1’s governing body. The numbers chosen by the drivers shall remain permanent over the course of their careers with the only exception of the number 1. Under the new F1 rules, drivers are allowed to pick a number which they will carry over the rest of their careers. If ever there are conflicts with the selection of numbers, such as two drivers picking the same number, preference is given to the driver who ranked higher in the 2013 championship. Number 1 is designated as a special number which is only given to the reigning world champion. So, based on the… Continue Reading »

Rosberg Finishes Second in Indian Grand Prix

The 2013 Indian Grand Prix will be best remembered as the race wherein Sebastian Vettel clinched his fourth straight world championship. Still, it was a valiant effort from the Mercedes drivers as Nico Rosberg snagged second place and Lewis Hamilton managed a P6 finish. With the strong performance—the team’s best since August, where Hamilton and Rosberg finished third and fourth, respectively, at the Belgian Grand Prix—Mercedes moves back into second place ahead of Ferrari. It’s been clear that the team has been targeting second place, what with Red Bull’s dominance and clear path to the title. The F1 star chimes in on some issues plaguing him and his team. On the Mercedes Tire Test Controversy Hamilton just shrugged off any concern about the protests that the team is facing over its undisclosed testing of future Pirelli tires. [F1] Mercedes AMG Petronas Courting Sebastian Vettel

Niki Lauda has confirmed that he is courting Red Bull Racing’s Sebastian Vettel, the man who is arguably the most dominant driver in Formula 1 at the moment. This was confirmed via the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. The effort to have Vettel join the team is something that Lauda says was begun by the previous motorsport director at Mercedes-Benz, Norbert Haug. As well he should, according to Red Bull F1 consultant Dr. Helmut Marko. Vettel is currently on top of the drivers’ standings, 10 points ahead of Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen. In addition, he is the youngest triple champion in the history of F1, among other records involving the word ‘youngest’… Continue Reading »

Korean GP 2011 Qualifying, rosberg Placed 7th

For the first time this season, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel was not able to grab the top spot. It was McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton’s turn in there with a time of 1m 35.820s. Meanwhile, Mercedes Petronas’ Nico Rosberg is on the 7th grid and Michael Schumacher is on the 12th place of the race at the Korea International Circuit. “I’m quite pleased with today. To find the right set-up for the qualifying and the race is always a compromise, particularly after such limited dry running, so I’m happy that we saved one set of option tyres. It will be tough to catch one of the top six drivers tomorrow but hopefully… Continue Reading »
