Lowe: Do Not Underestimate Hamilton and Rosberg

Paddy Lowe, the technical chief at Mercedes AMG Petronas, stated that fans should not underestimate Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg because of the superiority shown by their cars this Formula One season. He said the lack of mistakes made by Hamilton and Rosberg got them to where they are now in both the drivers and teams standings. Lowe mentioned that the nine wins, including six one-two victories and 10 out 11 pole qualifications achieved by his drivers, are not only indications of their superb W05’s, but they also reflect the skills of the team’s drivers. The Mercedes technical chief recalled that Hamilton and Rosberg displayed a very low error rate since the start of the 2014… Continue Reading »

Niki Lauda Takes a Jab at Marko Over the Vettel and Mercedes Issue

Niki Lauda is known to say what is on his mind, and he is not someone who lightly tolerates nonsense. Recently, he slammed Dr. Helmut Marko, the motorsport advisor of Red Bull for instigating speculations that Sebastian Vettel is being courted by Mercedes AMG Petronas to jump ship in 2016. It should be recalled that the Red Bull advisor revealed in an interview with Sport Bild last month that Mercedes and McLaren have been proposing for Vettel to move to their respective teams. He noted the two even presented Vettel outrageously high offers. “All the speculation of bull*** Marko is absolute rubbish,” said the non-executive director of Mercedes during an interview. He also confirmed… Continue Reading »

Following a rather controversial qualifying race leading to Monaco Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg reached the checkered flag first this Sunday’s race. His victory allowed him to get back his number-one position in the Formula One drivers’ standings, which was temporarily taken away by his teammate Lewis Hamilton in Spain. The German was able to outlast his Briton teammate by 9.2 seconds as he maintained his advantage over his pole position. It should be noted as well that Hamilton has been complaining about his partially impaired vision during the race that was apparently caused by a dirt in his eye. The two W05 cars were nearly inseparable during the early stages… Continue Reading »

A majority of Formula One analysts agreed that Lewis Hamilton is looking at his best this season. A lot of them even predicted that the young Briton might recapture the title this 2014. Except the disappointing race of Lewis Hamilton in Australia, wherein he suffered technical problems with his W05; the former world champion has dominated every single race he completed in 2014. Nico Rosberg has also been impressive since the day one of the races by grabbing the first place in Australia and by maintaining a place next to his teammate in the succeeding events. Despite the prediction of critics, including BBC, that the next race may be won… Continue Reading »
