Monaco GP: Bottas 4th, Hamilton 7th as Ferrari grabs 1-2

Sebastian Vettel took home the race win at the 2017 Monaco GP, at the head of a Ferrari 1-2 finish. Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas finished in fourth place and Lewis Hamilton was able to get to seventh despite starting from P13. Overall, though, this was a loss for Mercedes as Ferrari managed to get father ahead in the standings. With the win, Vettel is now 25 points ahead of Hamilton for the lead in the driver’s standings. Scuderia Ferrari also moved past Mercedes in the team standings. Ferrari has taken a 17-point lead thanks to the 1-2 finish. Valtteri Bottas emerged victorious in the 2017 Formula One Russian Grand Prix. The event marked the second win of Mercedes AMG Petronas this season and the Finn’s first win in his F1 career. Bottas overcame four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari who was expected to win the race following his impressive showing during the practices in Sochi and in the qualifying race wherein he landed the pole position. Three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton sadly fell in the fourth place, failing to overtake the veteran and 2007 champion Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari. Ferrari Beats Mercedes in F1 Qualifying

Ferrari continued its momentum at the Formula One Qualifying held this Saturday for the Russian Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel locked the pole position while his teammate Kimi Raikkonen grabbed the second place. Mercedes drivers Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton landed on third and fourth in the starting grid in Sochi, respectively. The battle in Russia seem to be between Ferrari and Mercedes based on the recent F1 Qualifying results. The red cars beat the Silver Arrows by a tenth of a second. Ferrari appeared impressive during the Sochi practice for the upcoming Formula One Russian Grand Prix. Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel’s car finished more than half a second faster than three-time world champion Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton. However, the Ferrari driver was not convinced of the results. Vettel alleged that Mercedes F1 might have sandbagged during practice. He recalled the dominating record of the team in Sochi as they secured every pole and led every lap in the circuit since its inaugural race in 2014. Lewis Hamilton prevailed for the second straight race, taking a relatively hard-fought victory at the 2016 Canadian Grand Prix after fending off the vastly improved Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel. Vettel took the lead with a great start to the race from P3. Can Nico Rosberg Still Win the 2015 Championship?

All is not yet lost for Nico Rosberg. Mathematically, he could still win the drivers’ title. But with other considerations involved, his chances are quite slim. Toto Wolff advised the German driver to “switch on to 2016 mode and bounce back next year” during his interview with Motorsport website. Currently, Rosberg has 229 points under his record in Formula One Drivers’ Standings. That’s 73 points behind the F1 Drivers’ Championship leader and his teammate Lewis Hamilton’s accumulated 302 points so far.
