The Mercedes-Benz G-Class appears to be looking back at its military origins in the new spy shots. Recently, the rugged version of the iconic SUV believed to be the new 4×4 Squared version was seen on the road wearing army green paint. The successor of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4×42 has been making its rounds since last year. But since then, it seems like its maker doesn’t look too bothered to hide it in full camouflage. The RG-33 Based on the Unimog is the Most Survivable MRAP Vehicle in the World

Earlier, we featured a Mercedes-Benz Unimog stash somewhere in Colorado, which is just another testament that a lot of custom configurations can be made from the truck. So from the expedition and race builds, we now go to one of its most versatile builds, the RG-33 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle that came into service in 2007 for the US Military. We just discovered a new gem from Brabus in the form of a customized Mercedes-Benz G-Class sport utility vehicle. The auto was given a desert sand-looking paint finish, and it looks like it’s ready to enter military service! The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a truly remarkable vehicle. It has withstood the test of time for nearly four decades. The auto is resilient enough to be driven both on and off the road, making it ideal for military use. LAPV Version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Spied

Can military vehicles be any cooler than this? Recent spy shots revealed that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new version of its G-Class-based Light Armored Patrol Vehicle, or the LAPV. These vehicles are especially developed for military use, so its major features would remain to be an upgraded armor protection and boosted suspension system, among other things, of course. The last LAPV, called the LAPV 5.4, was introduced back in 2008. Since then, the company has been silent about any plans to upgrade the LAPV. That ends now, of course.
