Mercedes-Benz USA Leases 1.1-Million Square-Foot Former Boeing Facility

Mercedes-Benz USA has just leased a 1.1-million square-foot Long Beach facility that used to be a place where Boeing 717 planes were manufactured. Terms of the lease were left undisclosed, as are the plans of MBUSA for the site. The only comments made on the facility was that it would get some measure of an overhaul and that the development would be more on the long-term. The company is expected to move in sometime during Q1 2014. US Sales For May Of Mercedes-Benz Increase By 8.3 Percent

Demand in the US market for the month of May increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period a year ago. This was revealed recently by Mercedes-Benz USA as demand reached 27,359, a new monthly sales record for the company. Year to date sales increased by 9.8 percent, as sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles reached 128,730. This include 7,517 Sprinter Van units, which is a 5.3 percent increase compared to the initial five months of the previous year. On the other hand, sales of the smart cars of the luxury car manufacturer only reached 3,678 units. Mercedes-Benz Pads Lead Over BMW in US Luxury Segment

With record sales in the month of April, Mercedes-Benz USA was able to pad its lead over rival German luxury automaker BMW. The latter was able to get a higher increase in terms of volume, with a 10 percent increase corresponding to 23,225 units sold for the month. Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, sold 23,635 units, a 5.8 percent increase. Year over year figures through April indicated an 11-percent increase for 2013, as the Mercedes-Benz has managed to sell 92,822 units so far, according to parent company Daimler. Mercedes-Benz USA Names Webster New smart GM on Top of Other Moves

Mercedes-Benz USA has just named previous pre-owned and fleet ops general manager Mark Webster as the new overall smart GM, replacing Tracey Matura, who then moves on to Chicago to become the GM for the central region. The shuffling becomes official on May 1. “Leveraging talent is a great way to drive a company’s corporate culture,” said MBUSA president and CEO Steve Cannon. Mercedes-Benz USA Gets Record Sales Figures for Q1

Backed by solid March numbers and riding continued success to start 2013, Mercedes-Benz USA reported that its Q1 sales figures are the highest in its history. The German automaker sold a total of 69,187 vehicles (cars plus trucks) during the first quarter of the year, which is up 12.5% over the same period in 2012. “We’re coming out of our highest first quarter on record—and that’s before launching a single new product,” said Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon. Mercedes-Benz USA Gets Record Sales in February

Mercedes-Benz USA managed to sell a total of 24,051 vehicles in February 2013, which translates to a considerable 22.2% increase over February 2012 numbers. That figure is good enough to be the best sales volume for the month for MB USA. The year-to-date figures are 48,110 units sold so far in 2013, which represents a 16.2 increase over the same period last year (41,398 units). Recently, the official website of CNN released the names of the companies who made it to Fortune’s Best 100 Companies to Work For in America. Based on the list, Mercedes-Benz USA made it to the 30th rank. The ranking body cited the company’s stability and the benefits it offers to the employees as a deciding factor.
