Daimler achieves record sales in Q1 2015

Daimler AG continues to roll, having achieved record sales, revenue, and EBIT during the first quarter of 2015, propelled of course by Mercedes-Benz Cars. This is thanks in large part to unit sales growing by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2014, contributing to a 16 percent growth in revenue to some €34 billion (around $37 billion). Mercedes-Benz Cars unit sales in Q1 grew 18 percent, with a nice round total of 459,700. In terms of unit sales, Q1 2015 now holds the record for best quarter in Mercedes history. Mercedes-Benz Aksaray plant reaches 200,000-truck milestone

We love manufacturing plant milestones, and the latest one’s just in for Mercedes-Benz as the Aksaray, Turkey plant just rolled the 200,000th truck off its assembly lines. The milestone was graced by the presence of Dr Wolfgang Bernhard along with other top executives of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Mercedes-Benz Trucks chief Stefan Buchner noted the key role that the Aksaray facility plays in Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ production network. After all, there were 17,000 units sold by Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Turkey last year, and the country is the third-biggest truck market for the brand, surpassed only by Brazil and Germany. 30,000+ Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks Now in Operation

In less than two years since it was launched on the market, the Mercedes-Benz Actros has proven time and again that it’s a formidable and reliable truck. Right now, there are around 30,000 of these trucks in operation worldwide, with some stated to have already accumulated mileage of over 600,000 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz Actros is Ireland’s ‘Truck of the Decade’

Here’s another award for the Mercedes-Benz Actros long-distance truck. This time, the accolade is the inaugural ‘Truck of the Decade’ award in Ireland, an award given by the Fleet Transport magazine. The award was based on votes through a variety of sources: Fleet Transport readers, Twitter and Facebook users, and attendees at the Mondello Truck Show. Voters chose from among the winners of the Irish ‘Truck of the Year’ award over the last decade, and the stiff competition faced by Mercedes-Benz included bets from Volvo, MAN, and Scania. Mercedes-Benz Trucks Wörth Plant Turns 50

Guess who just turned 50? In a huge anniversary gathering, Mercedes-Benz Trucks celebrated the 50th year of production in its Wörth plant, to commemorate the first units straight out of the assembly line on October 1st back in 1963. Around 300 guests were present in the celebration. The guests included Mercedes-Benz personnel as well as some figures within the industry as well as in politics. Dr. Bernhard Upbeat After First 90 Days as Commercial Vehicles Head

Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, the Daimler Board of Management member who is in charge of the commercial vehicles division, was positive when he assessed his first 90 days on the job. Daimler Trucks Asia Ship First India-made FUSO Units, On Pace for ‘Asia Business Model’ Targets

It looks like Daimler Trucks is successfully implementing its ‘Asia Business Model’ plan, as the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck  and Bus Corporation and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles are on pace to achieve its joint target of 290,000 units in sales by 2020.
