F1: Mercedes Prioritizing Reliability for Schumi

With five retirements in the 7 races so far in the 2012 Formula One season, many are thinking this year might be the last we see of Michael Schumacher in a Mercedes uniform. Still, the Mercedes AMG Petronas team is gearing up to make sure that reliability problems will no longer affect Schumi’s subsequent races. At the last race, the Canadian GP, Schumacher was on pace to finish in the lower end of the points but had to retire when his ride’s DRS got stuck open. The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team and driver Nico Rosberg had to settle for a “decent” performance at the Canadian Grand Prix, with the German driver getting a sixth-place finish in a race that saw the seventh different winner in the first seven races of the 2012 F1 season—McLaren-Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Rosberg Starts 5th, Schumacher 9th for Canadian GP

Continuing a solid run in qualifying for the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team, Nico Rosberg was able to finish fifth in the qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. Rosberg Scores Historic Win for Mercedes GP

Nico Rosberg finally felt how sweet it is to win a Formula One Grand Prix event at the Chinese Grand Prix last Sunday. It was historic for both the driver and Mercedes AMG Petronas GP, as the win marked the first victory in 57 years for an F1 car that rode purely under the banner of the Silver Arrow. Rosberg cruised to victory, ending up with a 20.6-second lead on the next guys, who happened to be driving Mercedes-powered cars. McLaren-Mercedes teammates Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton finished second and third respectively to join the German race winner on the podium.
