Mercedes-AMG GT4 Previewed

Mercedes-AMG GmbH continues to expand its portfolio not only in road cars but also in the sporting community. During the end-of-season celebration of the company held on December 3, 2016, AMG boss Tobias Moers revealed that they are developing another race car that is configured to comply with the GT4 rules. He also showed renderings of the upcoming auto. According to the press release of the brand, the car will be called as the “Mercedes-AMG GT4.” The AMG GT4 is based on the Mercedes-AMG GTR. When the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was manufactured by the performance and motorsports division of Mercedes-Benz, it was initially intended to become a part of the FIA GT Championship in 1997. Designed mainly as to be a racecar, it was later upgraded after it was successful in the 1997 competition. The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was designed as a race car the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany. It was initially intended for the 1997 GT Championship but was later upgraded to allow it to be used for the “24 Hours of Le Mans.” After the upgrade for Le Mans, the luxury race car was renamed CLK GTR.
