AMG and Mercedes-Benz designed the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR to compete at the FIA GT Championship series in 1997 by. It is a rather rare piece of engineering marvel since only twenty coupe versions and six roadsters were produced. A silver-colored CLK GTR was spotted recently at the Monterey Car Week 2015, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. Renowned vehicle collector Benjamin Chen is the proud owner of this particular supercar that managed to turn a good number of heads at Monterey. Sarto Racing released a photo of its new work with the Mercedes-Benz CLK, which can be seen above. The tuner unveiled its package on its Facebook page a couple of days ago. No information has been provided by the tuner about the car in their social media page. They are yet to feature it in their site too, so we can only speculate about the key highlights of their new product based on what we can see in the picture. Rare Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster Hits the Auction Block

A very rare Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster has been confirmed to hit the auction block soon. According to Motor Authority, the race car featured in the picture above will be sold by Bonhams to the highest bidder in one of its events that will be held at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. The source claimed Bonhams is expecting the car to fetch around $2.2 million to $2.8 million. So what makes it that expensive? The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was designed as a race car the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany. It was initially intended for the 1997 GT Championship but was later upgraded to allow it to be used for the “24 Hours of Le Mans.” After the upgrade for Le Mans, the luxury race car was renamed CLK GTR. A recent report on gtspirit.com shows that a rare 1999 model of the CLK GTR is currently available for sale. We’ve received exclusive spy shots of the next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe from our very own spy photographer and “Insider”. You’ve seen dozens of such sighting in the past, but I don’t believe we’ve seen pictures of the car this close and (shall we say) personal.
