Lewis Hamilton capped off a fairly dominant race weekend by winning the 2017 Chinese GP, ahead of the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel, in a race that could have gone either way were it not for certain events. The win puts Hamilton with Vettel in a tie for the drivers championship points lead. Mercedes, meanwhile, takes the lead in the team standings over Ferrari. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen stole the show with an incredible drive, going from P16 all the way to seventh right in the first lap. Chinese Grand Prix qualifying: Hamilton takes pole; Bottas in third

Lewis Hamilton made the most of the dry track at the Chinese Grand Prix on Saturday, taking pole position to fend off Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. Valtteri Bottas took the other Mercedes car to P3. It sure looks like Hamilton and Vettel will be the duel to watch this season, with Vettel taking first blood when he won the opener at Australia a couple of weeks ago. With his sixth straight pole position, Hamilton is closing in fast on the all-time leaders. His 63 career poles is just 2 behind Ayrton Senna for second place. Lewis Hamilton Will Use Faulty Engine in China as Spare

Lewis Hamilton will still use the problematic engine he had in the previous race as a spare. According to Autosport, Mercedes already identified the issue that held back the reigning Formula One champion at the qualifying of the Chinese Grand Prix. Hamilton is yet to win a race in the current F1 season. The worst performance he had so far was during the event in China. Nico Rosberg is on fire! The German once again captured a win in the recently concluded 2016 Formula One Chinese Grand Prix. In doing so, the German driver extended his lead over the current F1 Drivers’ Champion and his teammate, Lewis Hamilton. The victory also makes him the fourth man in the history of the sport to win six consecutive races. Lewis Hamilton emerged victorious in the recently concluded 2015 Formula One Chinese Grand Prix. The reigning champion and his teammate Nico Rosberg rebounded from the upset victory handed to them by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in the Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago with a one-two victory once more this Sunday. Hamilton finished 1:39.42.008 to gain another 25 points in his driver’s scorecard. It also raised his overall points this season to 68 points. Rosberg was only 0.714 seconds behind his fellow Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver, earning him 18 points, which made his total points to 51 points. It is officially a trend. Mercedes AMG Petronas posted its third straight one-two finish at the Chinese Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton once again taking the win and Nico Rosberg finishing in second place. The win also makes it four victories in four races for the team, with Rosberg taking the title at the season opener in Australia. This particular win gives Hamilton 25 for his career, which puts him in a tie for eighth place on the all-time list along with Niki Lauda and Jim Clark. Mercedes Downplays Its Chances At The Chinese Grand Prix

Despite their win at the Chinese Grand Prix last year, Mercedes head Toto Wolff is playing down its chances of retaining the title as the season starts. Last year was the first win of the team since it returned to Formula 1 racing behind the commanding victory of Nico Rosberg in Shanghai.
