After being held back by the pandemic last year, Mercedes-Benz finally went out with a bang once again at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. Alongside the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQB and the new Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door coupe, the German automaker also unveiled the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class L during the event. The “L” in the name of the car stands for long-wheelbase, which is what defines the China-exclusive C-Class L. 2022 Mercedes-AMG C63 Engine Details Revealed

Mercedes-Benz earlier confirmed that the new C-Class will be getting a four-cylinder engine in its entire lineup, including its high-performance variant. Recently, new details emerged about the configuration of the Mercedes-AMG C63. The AMG C63 based on the next-gen C-Class unveiled last week will be shifting from a V8 engine to a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder power unit. That’s the same four-pot banger from the new Mercedes-AMG A45, but with a twist. According to Car Magazine, the engine is partnered with an integrated starter-generator (ISG) and rear-mounted motor. Despite Mercedes-Benz USA killing off the C-Class from its dealerships, the best-selling sedan range of the three-pointed star marque continues to flourish elsewhere. Recently, the high-performance version of its wagon variant, suspected to be the Mercedes-AMG C53 Estate, was seen undergoing testing on European roads. The prototype in the photos from Motor1 is heavily clad in heavy zebra camouflage, which suggests that the car is still a long way to go. Since we last saw it around November last year, the car has already shed a lot of its camouflage, which hints that its unveiling must be coming soon.
