Hamilton to open 2017 F1 season in pole position

Lewis Hamilton will be in pole position to kick off the 2017 F1 season. The Mercedes driver won a tight qualifying which saw Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel take P2 (with a time of 1:22.456) and new Silver Arrows driver Valtteri Bottas claim P3 (1:22.481). Hamilton clocked 1:22.188, a mere 0.268 ahead of Vettel, while Bottas was just a shade behind P2 with a 0.025 difference between himself and the Ferrari. The pole position is the 62nd of Hamilton’s career. He is in third on the all-time list, and he’s closing in fast on Ayrton Senna with 65. Michael Schumacher is at the top of that list with 68. Lewis Hamilton Vows to Set Another Record in Formula One

Coming off from a Formula One World Championship win last season as well as a fresh and perfect victory in Australian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton promised everyone that he will set another record in the sport with his Mercedes Silver Arrow. Mercedes Dedicates Australian Grand Prix Victory to Michael Schumacher

During Toto Wolff’s interview in Melbourne just after Nico Rosberg won the race in the Australian Grand Prix, he released a statement saying that the race is very meaningful for them as a team, and they are dedicating their victory to Michael Schumacher.
