After teasing us with spy shots for already a year, the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV recently made another appearance on the road. Normally, Mercedes prototypes gradually shed their camouflage as they approach their launching, but this one is still completely wrapped in it. That means its official unveiling is still a long way ahead.
Since we are talking about a next-generation model, expect a major overhaul in the exterior and interior of the new GLC. However, the covers make it hard for us to discern what the SUV really has in store for us, so we will just have to rely on the portions peeking from the camo and the bulges of the wraps to get a little idea of what to expect from the SUV.
Based on the latest spy video, the new GLC appears to have a longer wheelbase than its predecessor. The front and rear fascias also hint at some major cosmetic enhancements. The other areas show the same proportions and contours found in the outgoing model though.
There’s no clear view of the SUV’s interior from the video, but since the GLC shares the same underpinnings found in the C-Class, expect the bigger Merc to get the same quality of upholstery and level of tech as its sedan sibling, which includes a digital instrument cluster and large central display with the MBUX infotainment system.
Look forward to an array of inline-four engine configurations getting under the hood of the base GLC and its high-performance versions. The top Benz trims and the AMG variants will likely get mild-hybrid powertrains.
