The coming of the Mercedes-AMG GT marked the end the Mercedes SLS AMG’s production. Although the successor of the SLS is now receiving the most attention, and currently getting the spotlight as the flagship sports car of the three-pointed star brand, one cannot just dismiss the iconic gullwing sports car’s place in the history of Mercedes-AMG.
Earlier, Prior Design unveiled its new wide body kit for the Mercedes SLS AMG. The designated name of the package was PD900GT. It features revised bonnet, front bumper, grille, side vents, diffuser, exhaust tips, fenders, side skirts, rocker panels, rear spoiler, and wheels. Altogether, the aerodynamic enhancements provide the car a more aggressive look.
It should be noted that the package also include KW coilovers and exhaust system with a valve control. As for the massive rear wing of the car, it can be made with carbon fiber materials upon the customer’s request.
The SLS AMG already has a very powerful engine. Under its hood is a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine. The unit provides the car 563 hp with 650 Nm of torque. The power of this machine is distributed to the rear wheels by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission gearbox. The GT version of the car can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds. Then, its top speed is electronically limited at 197 mph.
Probably realizing that the SLS AMG already packs quite a punch, Prior Design left the stock configuration of the car intact.
