The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC is making its way to the Geneva Motor Show next week. The luxury sport utility vehicle features subtle exterior and interior updates. It also carry’s a new tech and a bunch of optional add-ons for buyers to choose from.
Exterior
The new GLC is fitted with the latest chrome, twin-grille design of Mercedes with flute-like inserts. The front bumper is highlighted by a chrome frame on its center too. The same material can be seen in the running boards, skid plates and trapezoidal tailpipes of the AMG Line version.
Moreover, the LED headlamps are now narrower compared to the previous model, and the taillights have rectangular lamps. These can be upgraded with the Multibeam tech of Mercedes.
Meanwhile, the SUV can be equipped with up to 20-inch wheels. The color selection of the wheels introduces a new color called “graphite gray” as well.
Interior
The cabin of the new GLC is highlighted by a large touchscreen measuring 7 inches or 10 inches. A 12-inch digital instrument cluster can be chosen by buyers too. These use the latest MBUX infotainment system that’s capable of recognizing voice commands and hand gestures.
What’s more, the vehicle has a Keyless Go feature in its base rim. Then for those who love the rough roads, there’s the optional Off-Road Engineering Package that adds the Off-Road and Off-Road+ modes with the usual Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Individual driving programs.
Trims
Five trims are available in the updated GLC range, namely the petrol-fed GLC 200 4MATIC and GLC 300 4MATIC plus the diesel-powered GLC 200 d 4MATIC, GLC 220 d 4MATIC and GLC 300 d 4MATIC units.
All use 2.0-liter inline-four engines, and each gas variant is boosted by a 10 kW electric motor. The power of the units range from 120 hp to 258 hp.
