The renowned high-performance brand of Mercedes-Benz Group just unveiled another model that directly benefits from Formula 1 technology, the Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC. The new C-Class model takes a hybrid powertrain to maximize output and ensure a ‘highly agile driving experience’.
Performance
Like the new AMG SL 43, the new AMG C43 sports a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. However, thanks to an assist from a small electric motor, the car is capable of producing 408 hp and 500 Nm of torque. All that power goes to an all-wheel-drive system and is distributed via a nine-speed automatic transmission system. The setup allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds while its top speed is electronically-limited to 250 km/h or 265 km/h with AMG’s optional package.
A noteworthy standard feature of the new AMG C43 is its rear-wheel-steering system. This provides it with better agility and more maneuverability, especially when driving on corners.
Exterior
The AMG C43 bumps up the styling of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with the addition of sportier and more aggressive components. These include a front grille with a Panamericana design featuring vertical slats, larger air intakes on the lower corners of the front bumper, a set of 18- to 20-inch wheels, quadruple exhausts with circular tips, and a rear diffuser.
Interior
The AMG C43 benefits from the same level of sporty articulation as its body. Adding appeal to the large digital displays, leather-clad upholstery, and other standard luxurious elements of the C-Class are the optional Alcantara trim, carbon fiber dashboard, bucket seats, AMG sports steering wheel with extra dials for managing driving modes, and aluminum pedals.
Pricing and Release Date
The pricing for the new Mercedes-AMG C43 is still under wraps, but it is estimated to fetch around the $70,000 mark. Meanwhile, expect its release date in the latter part of 2022.
