On the heels of its dismissal of the former head of its US operations, Mercedes has announced that it will be appointing Ernst Lieb’s replacement in the coming days. Aside from this short announcement, not much else has been released by the company regarding the surprising turn of events. There is also no word on whether the replacement CEO will come from the company’s headquarters in Germany. Given the importance of U.S. operations, all options are open, including selecting Mr. Lieb’s successor from the ranks of MBUSA personnel.
Following the departure of Mr. Lieb, it was announced that the interim CEO would be Herbert Werner. Herr Werner has been MBUSA’s Chief Financial Officer and VP for Finance and Information Technology since 2009.
